| Shiatsu Massage |
( Available year round by appointment )
The massage room is in a small cottage at the heart of the gardens .
Stemming from traditional Chinese medicine, Shiatsu was developed in Japan where it was influenced by Zen Buddhism. This particular massage technique, on the ground and without oil, does not require the removal of clothing or use of accessories. The Japanese term shiatsu means shi (finger) and atsu (pressure).
The therapist uses the fingers, palms, thumbs and sometimes feet to exert pressure on the meridians and acupuncture tsubos to rebalance the ki (energy) flow and allow the body to find within the source of its recovery. This technique gives a feeling of relaxation and general physical, psychological and emotional well-being.
Cost: $60 for 1 hour |
